The State Tiger Strike Force, Madhya Pradesh (Bhopal) was constituted under the orders of the Forest Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, vide Order No. F 15-36/2007/10/2 dated 12.12.2008 and 17.06.2022, and under this, four regional units were established in Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Shivpuri. These units were known as the Anti-Poaching Squad prior to the order dated 12.12.2008.
Madhya Pradesh is richly endowed with forests and wildlife and stands as a national leader in wildlife conservation. The state is proudly recognized as the Tiger State, Leopard State, Wolf State, Vulture State, and Gharial State. It also holds the distinction of having the largest forest wealth in the country. The vision is to safeguard this invaluable natural and wildlife heritage.
To curb illegal wildlife trade at both national and international levels, combat organized forest crimes, and make a significant contribution to the conservation of endangered species through enforcement and vigilance.
